By Lon (Alonzo) Hosford

On November 3rd 2009 conservatives have a major opportunity to advance their movement in New Jersey with Chris Christie and the Citizens For Assembly.

Why Chris Christie for Conservatives?
I heard arguments why Chris Christie is not the perfect choice for a conservative vote. I have heard arguments that Chris Daggett may be better. True or not Daggett will lose tomorrow. Corzine can win and if he does a big loss for conservatism in New Jersey when conservatives are on a precipice for a great opportunity to advance in New Jersey with Chris Christie despite any doubts.

Conservative Fight In New Jersey Is Not Just This Gubernatorial Race
The conservative fight for New Jersey is a longer term effort that transcends this Gubernatorial race. The fight requires conservatives in the State to focus on the local school boards, townships, cities, counties and the State legislature. These are the places where the battles are manageable and will make a more sustained change; so much so they can influence candidate choices in future Gubernatorial races and in Washington where problems for the Country are dire.

Chris Christie will have a chance to respond to conservative pressure and he can be measured on the results. That pressure is best channeled into local and State elections for however long it takes. Here conservatives need to weed out moderates and liberals and replace them with conservatives ideally through the Republican party, but a Conservative party if that is what it will take.

Citizens For Assembly – A Running Start On November 3rd
Tomorrow you have a running start if you look at the Citizens For Assembly candidates on tomorrow’s ballot for your district. They are the tea party, citizen activists who said they had enough and see their only alternative is to drop what they are doing and band together under a Common Sense Pledge to become candidates in an attempt to remove deeply entrenched Democrats around the State. Conservatives need to take this concept Barry Funt started and use it as guide.

Way Back Machine: Ross Perot
Billionaire Ross Perot on national television dazzled us with charts and graphs about the finances of Washington the other parties found not worthy to share with the voters. This was alluring enough for the only vote I regretted in Presidential elections. Clinton won, Perot lost and the regret was to follow.

Only months later a tax was imposed on Social Security beneficiaries if they decided to go back to work. We would not want seniors motivated to work. Over a certain amount they would lose dollar for dollar in their check. This affected my widowed mother who came from a family who worked into senior years. She would throttle back and be relegated to work at generally low paying tasks to stay under the threshold. A big misuse of talent gained over a lifetime.

Soon there were the private meetings headed by Hillary Clinton to orchestrate the take over the health industry of the United States. We fought it back but like the poisonous vines we have here in New Jersey they grew back and have us in a death grip.

New Jersey conservatives help Chris Christie and Citizens for Assembly in and then we begin our next advance. The work is easy: go vote tomorrow and remind all fellow conservatives.

By Lon (Alonzo Hosford)

Chris Christie looks confident of a win with a strong dash of caution flavored with the unpredictable.

He completed a 21 NJ county tour to cap off his election campaign at Morristown Green in Morristown NJ on November 1st in his home Morris County. About 500 attended that included independents as well as the expected Republicans.

Chris Christie End of 21 County Tour At Morristown On The Green

The expected campaign printed signs were plentiful but were dotted by the hand made signs characteristic of Tea Party events. Even this reporter has never had an interest in political campaign rallies made the 50 minute trip to report on the event. It had the anticipation the Tea Party express had as you waited for the bus arrive. You saw and met conservative activists sharing what each are doing and information for action in the days ahead both for New Jersey but also for Washington. Christie was a pause for the big picture.

Christie was pumped from the 4 day bus tour for a race that political experts are saying is too close to call. Christie is battling both Corzine and Daggett in the race. He warns the supporters of Corzine’s desperation to retain power and prepared them to expect anything because of it.

New Jersey’s Economic Ditch of Sad Facts
Christie highlighted the issues that often crystalize towards the end of an election. He characterizes them as “sad facts”.

“We are the highest tax burden state in America. We have the highest unemployment we have had in 33 years and the worst unemployment in the region. We’re the worst business tax climate in America; the worst survival for small business. This state as been driven into the economic ditch.”

Putting Fear Into New Jersey Corruption
Christie was optimistic of his goals citing those who thought fighting corruption was not possible in New Jersey. He outlined what was done in the last 8 years to show promises can be kept. After naming names he sums up the bunch caught so far.

“These are the Democratic felons that John Corzine has enabled with millionis of dollars of his own money to rule this State like petty dictators over the last four years. Well guess what? Forty eight hours left guys. The moving van is coming. “

Taunting the vision for January 2010, Christie draws a picture in Trenton.

“I tell you what. When Kim Duadagno and I get to Trenton in January … Now imagine this. Two former federal corruption prosecutors walking up the front steps of the Statehouse in Trenton New Jersey with a case to the front office. They’re shaking already.”

Chris had his family on stage and they all appeared upbeat. The hard work last for one more day doing the dog work working phones.

By Lon (Alonzo) Hosford

GOP is growing perhaps reluctantly to accept the conservative activist movement manifested in the Tea Parties. At a Chris Christie ralley on November 1, 2009 , Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen thanked the Tea Party movement for their support.

Rodney Frelinghuysen Holding 1990 page Pelosi Health Care Bill

The ralley was the end of the 21 country tour Chris Christie has laid out for the end of his campaign and held on the Morristown Center Green a plce where over 10,000 people have attended The Morristown Tea Party events since April 15th this year. The latest was just the day before.

The conservative activist movement this year has given strength and support for exposing and opposing the current Congress moves to expand government to unprecedented levels. GOP is virtually powerless in Congress without an active citizen movement.

Even large lobby groups for industries have one by one been lured in to support these government expansions with the promises of the basic stuff called money and to some extent the appearance of no Whitehouse reprisals. However on the latter point they are seeing how fast the Whitehouse and certain members of Congress can turn on them if they step out of line. Something you see in dictatorships and communist countries.

Recognizing the independents from both major parties behind Chris Christie, Rodey reached out with gratitude returned by applause.

“There are a lot of people who support the Tea Party movement. And we want to thank the Tea Party movement.”

Well we are not done yet and all politicians need to get used to us.

GOP Sees Value Of NJ Election For Washington
Rodey brought the new Pelosi Health Care bill to stage. The photo for this story shows the marveling faces of Rodney and the other Christie supporters on stage. Rodney tied the New Jersey voting on Tuesday to a message for Washington DC

“On November 3rd, you have an opportunity to send a message not only to Trenton but to the Whitehouse – your not going to take it anymore!”

This is evidence that the GOP is looking for all political momentum to form their battle strength in DC. Conservatives of course are daily taking action from homes, their computers, in the streets, in meetings with elected officials and even running for office from school boards to State legislatures around the country.
