Dear Readers,

Congressman Lance's opposition to the health care reform plan being pushed by congressional leaders in Washington isn't based on cost alone.

Rep. Lance has consistently stated his strong opposition to the so-called "public option."

Congressman Lance believes that a public option is Washington-speak for government-run health care that will eventually lead to fewer jobs, higher taxes and less health coverage for New Jerseyans.

What's more the legislation soon before the House does not address issues like tort reform, medical savings accounts and allowing individual and businesses to group together and cross state lines to purchase health insurance -- all important provision the Congressman believes must be included in any health care reform legislation.

In conclusion, Mr. Lance is concerned with the fact that the Democrats' health care bill would increase, not reduce, our nation's burgeoning long-term health costs. But it isn't his only concern.

In addition to meeting with Lance's chief of staff a rep. assigned to their office from the RNC came out to speak. He said he was there to help the Christie campaign but didn't know much about NJ issues. He also was given a very strong "talking to" by Linda Terzseck on the general displeasure with the Republican party always sponsoring and supporting the more moderate candidates. The base of the party is conservative and want their voices heard and their issues addressed more forcefully.
