I intentionally stood next to Borys during a portion of the Tea Party expressly so I could “read over his shoulder” (I was actually just to his right side and could easily see the pad) as to what notes he was taking. I know the T-T reporters have a penchant for getting info incorrect, or at least reporting it incorrectly, and I was curious as to the note taking method.
Borys was scribbling a single squiggle every few minutes, at most. To be perfectly honest I couldn’t recognize a single letter in the single squiggles he was putting in his pad (it looked more like the print the Arab countries use, seriously, I’m not kidding). I could easily see the notes as to times things occurred.
This did not look like shorthand to me and even if it was it was more like microscopic hand, not simply short hand.
In the futue I urge as many people as possible to dog local print reporters and try to see what they are actually noting, as opposed to what is actually going on. Don’t confront them, just see if you can get a gist as to what they are taking down, especially if it is a left leaning publication.
